Final Exam!

During this semester I have become a better…

This semester I felt quite successful. I feel that I learned what Professor Smith said was our goal. It may not be perfect yet, but it will get there. The objectives in this class were to:
  • Learn to read, think and write critically
  • Gain strategies and skills for all parts of the writing process
  • Gain a deeper understanding of how to find and use quality sources
  • Understand and value the role of complexity in the academic process
I learned what makes a paper good or bad, and also what makes it easier to write. The way this class was run made these objectives a little simpler to accomplish.

I feel that after being a member of the English 1010 class will make my life easier in the future. Without the skills that I learned it would be impossible to transfer thoughts and emotions critically. Looking back, I noticed that our class has learned techniques necessary to develop personal, informative, and argumentative essays. These are vital attributes needed to become successful in today’s society. Because of this class, my attitude towards writing has came to an understanding of what it takes to be a good writer. Before I never realized that essay writing skills were so important.

Now, I can't quite say I enjoy it, but without the knowledge of writing skills I would still be concerned with just getting by every english class. Instead I now find myself developing an essay with the readers in mind, thinking about what would interest them to read my work. Without this class my writing senses would still be sleeping and i'd be lost in my future.

Thank you Professor Smith
