Any Runny Noses?

I saw this and was immediately so excited to try it for myself. I knew it would be so adorable and useful. Every year when fall comes the one thing that happens to everyone is a cold. At least once during fall and winter it is bound to happen.
No one likes to be dealing with their nose, especially the little active ones. Although Kleenex has a good variety of boxes that can match any decor, I thought this was a fun idea for the little ones. One they might also pay attention to as well.

Items needed:
  • box of Kleenex
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • 1.5in wooden circles
  • hot glue gun
  • piece of heavy duty cardboard
  • ruler
  • marker
  • knife
Now the rectangular box that is made from the cardboards can also be bought at any craft store or online. Not difficult to make on your own but a bit time consuming.

-To make the cut out on your own, just take the cardboard and measure out the shapes of each side of the tissue box. The center rectangle will be fitting on top of the tissue box.

-Trim as well as you can with a sharp knife (X-acto works best). Fold the sides up to start forming the cover
* before continuing make sure that when folded up, your tissue box fits well. It should only have the slightest bit of wiggle room.

-Measure out the center of the box and make a rectangle for the Kleenex tissues to pull through. Make sure to trim out carefully

-With the corners brought together, use the hot glue gun to firmly hold them together. Hold until the glue cools and sets.
* The X acto knife can also help trim any glue globs and even out some of the corners so they look alot nicer.

-Paint the first round of glossy paint onto the box. and take the two 1.5in wooden circles and glue them together and paint them as well.

-Place them evenly on either side and hot glue them, after go over them with one last coat of paint.

Almost done… pop you tissue box in there from underneath

And now you have the cutest box of tissues!!!
