Probs the most convenient thing ever..!

In Utah we all know there is never an official fall or spring. Its either freakin hot or unbearably cold. Winter is just around the corner and nothing is worse than your kids coming in with wet feet when you have just finished cleaning the house.

Step 1: Make the dowel rails. These dowels are made from the 2x4 cut 26in long. Holes are then drilled into them using 2 ¼” measurement for the placement. To cut into them simply use the saw. These holes are perfectly smooth and round holes.

Step 2:  Cut and attach the base boards. The baseboards are the 2-1x4 cut 19in long. Attach to the bottom of the dowel rails to create a base for the dowels to sit on.

Step 3: Cut the dowel. The dowels are used for the boot holders - 6 14in and 6 20in long
* the larger ones are for adult sized and the smaller tend to hold child-size boots

The dowels should fit snug and can be secured with wood glue. (not necessary)
  • it is convenient to not secure them for the option to take them out later on when the rack is not in use and store it

Step 4: The rack is nearly completed. Sand and prep for paint or stain

This simple design allows the boots to be suspended while they drain and dry much quicker. Perfect for the snowy season. It also works perfectly year round for  gardening, yard work, trail rides etc.
